It simply means it is a must have. I don't look at a review score like this and say it's perfect because no videogame can be perfect. Saying that though, if no vidoegame can be perfect then what is the point of a ratings system anyway?
Simply put, 100/100 or 10/10, or 5/5, or A+, whatever the hell the review system is, a perfect score does not mean a perfect game,rather it means that the game in question is of such a great quality in the reviewers opinion that ever...
Microsoft had every right to rush them on it, midway through development all Bungie had was a demo that wasn't even playable on the Xbox. Bungie basicaly wasted time and sat on an engine that just wasn't going to work out.
Halo 2 could have been better yes, but that was Bungies fault.

How is Halo a knock off of Gears of War when Halo 1 and Halo 2 were out before the first Gears of War game? Let alone they are two completely different games.
I don't expect Halo: reach to outsell Blackops overall due to the fact that Blackops is a multipaltform game. At most I expect Reach will outsell the Xbox 360 version of Blackops.
I wasn't saying Halo is a popular as Star Wars, however, it is the closest in the videogame medium to Star Wars.

Perfect Dark is my favourite XBLA game this year.
Goldeneye was a proof of concept at most, it didn't really effect the whole FPS genre like Halo did.
The fact of the matter is not only did it make the FPS genre a console genre since it's release, the gameplay mechanics Bungie implimented has been a standard since then thanks to Bungie and Halo 1...
1. Two Weapon limit.
2. Perfected Vehicle combat.
3. The Golden tripod of Weapons, melee, and Grenades
4. Regenrating health/shields.
5. Wide open terrain/envrionments.

Halo 1 for the Xbox Live Arcade, give it the Perfect Dark treatment and then some. I'd also like to see the Halo 2 directors Cut, basically Halo 2 re-released before Bungie scrapped various parts of the campaign in order to ship Halo 2 on time. (and all bugs fixed aswell).
Let alone the FPS genre is arguably the most popular genre in videogames currently.
